Secure checkout (TLS / SSL encryption)

Carter & Gray uses industry-standard TLS encryption (the modern successor to SSL) to keep your shopping experience secure. All sensitive information, including login credentials and payment-card details, is encrypted in transit during every checkout.

Every form on our website that collects personal or payment information is protected in this way, so that the information cannot be intercepted on the network between your device and our store.

PCI DSS compliance

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is the recognized global security framework for organizations that handle credit-card and debit-card data. It is maintained by the PCI Security Standards Council and is designed to strengthen controls around payment data, reduce fraud and protect cardholder information.

Carter & Gray processes all card payments through PCI DSS-compliant payment service providers and the Shopify checkout platform. We do not handle or store full card numbers ourselves.

Your payment information

Your full card number is never visible to Carter & Gray. Once a transaction has been completed, we can only see your billing information, your shipping information, the order details and the last four digits of the card used.

The secure environment begins the moment you enter the checkout. You can confirm that you are browsing securely by checking for a closed padlock icon in your browser and verifying that the address bar shows "https://" at the start of the URL.

How your data is shared

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Where we share information with third parties, for example with Shopify, with our payment processors and with the carriers that deliver your orders, we do so only to the extent necessary to operate the Services and only as set out in our Privacy Policy.
